STUDENT HANDOUT

What I Buy
  1. Think back over the last day, week and month and try to remember everything you’ve bought. (Include things your parents or anyone else bought for you.) List as many things as you can below and under the heading “Why did I buy it?” write either: I needed it, I wanted it or I don’t know/can’t remember. You can continue the list on the other side if you need space!

  1. Look through your list. How many things did you buy because you needed them? For each one, ask yourself if you really needed it and why. How many things did you buy because you wanted them? For each one, did you still want it as much after you had it? If you hadn’t bought it, would you still want it now as much as you did?
