Religious Minorities and Hate Crimes (Canada)
  • In 1994, 290 incidents of anti-Semitic hate crimes were reported -  a 50 per cent increase in reported incidents since 1992.

  • Most incidents occurred in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto.  These three cities accounted for over 80 per cent of all religious-based hate crimes.

  • Half of these crimes occurred in Toronto alone.
