The following figures are part of a research report on older Americans by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).The report was supported with information from a survey by Ernst & Young and the National Retail Federation.
Senior citizens are the fastest-growing age segment of the Internet community.
The age group with the highest concentration of online buyers is the 50 to 64 segment, at 27 per cent.
The fastest growing age segment of online buyers are those who are 65 and over, at 16 per cent.
Altogether, over 68 per cent of online buyers are over 40 years of age.
