In a survey for Intel, Angus Reid interviewed 508 parents and 508 teens 12 to 17.
Canadian teens spend an average of 2.1 hours per week on the computer at home doing homework and 3.2 hours per month on the Net gathering information for school assignments.
More than half (52 per cent) of teens surveyed believed the computer was their most important learning tool, followed by the calculator (26 per cent), the encyclopedia (eight per cent), and the dictionary (six per cent).
