Overview
The Lesson Library is a collection of search tools to help teachers find lessons by:
A third set of tools supports a broader search for educational materials on specific topics. By selecting a subject in either the elementary or secondary category, teachers gain access to a list of handouts, backgrounders, articles, overheads and activities on the topic.
The Lesson Library also provides a link to an online form for submitting lesson plans for publication on the site. For more information about this feature, click on "Submit a Lesson" in the menu to the left.
By Grade and Subject
To search for lessons by grade and topic:
1. Select a grade range from the "grades" menu.
Click on the arrow on the right side of the "All grades" window to display the list of options. Select a grade by clicking on it.
2. Select a topic from the "subjects" menu.
Click on the arrow on the right side of the "All subjects" window to display the list of options. Select one by clicking on it.
3. Click GO
A window displaying the search results will appear, listing links to all lessons matching the selected criteria.
Find a Lesson by Curriculum Outcomes
To search for lessons using Canadian provincial curricular outcomes:
1. Select a province or territory from the "province/territory" menu.
Click on the arrow on the right side of the "province/territory" window to display the list of options. Select a province or territory by clicking on it.
2. Click GO.
This will open the Media Education overview page for your selected province or territory. From the right sidebar , select a subject area and grade level from the links under the title "Media Education Learning Outcome Curriculum Charts." This will take you to a subject overview page. In the right sidebar on this page you will also find links to charts matching curriculum outcomes for the subject and grade with MNet lessons.
In addition, you will find links to other MNet educational resources which can be used to achieve these outcomes.
Browse All Educational Materials
The " Browse all educational materials" tools allow you to search for the full range of teaching resources in the MNet archive on a particular subject. This includes lessons, handouts, activities, backgrounders, overheads and articles.
1. Select a subject from either the "Elementary" or "Secondary" menus.
Click on arrow to the right of either of the "All subjects" menus to display the list of options. Scroll down the list. Select a topic by clicking on it.
2. Click GO.
A search results window will appear listing links to all the educational documents available on the selected subject.
